4Media Movie Editor can help you create unsophisticated videos from existing clips. The application has a nice and intuitive interface where the central element is a timeline. This element will allow you to place various clips in the desired order. Multiple video formats are supported as input. Unfortunately, you cannot import image files, which is a limitation when you need to create video slideshows from photographs.
Besides reordering the source clips, other operations can be performed on them as well. For instance, you can cut and clip the input videos to erase undesired parts. Similarly, you can crop the frame to leave out unwanted elements or highlight important ones. Moreover, you can pick a transition from an extensive collection and place it between two clips. Additionally, the program lets you substitute the original sound tracks by others. A disadvantage is that you will not be able to add text elements, such as captions, titles and credits.
Multiple target profiles are available. They have been classified according to their base formats and supporting devices. In addition, they can be customized and new profiles can be created.
In general, 4Media Movie Editor is a fine application but you should not expect too much from it because it does not support sophisticated authoring actions, such as working with layers and transparencies. Nevertheless, it is much more affordable than other applications leading this field.
